Annweiler am Trifels - Romantic town between woods and wine

Annweiler at the Trifels is a romantic town in the Palatinate forest. Surrounded by green woods, idyllic creek valleys and picturesquely located vineyards it is the ideal starting point for excursions into nature.

The historic old town with a lot of half-timbered houses invites you to a stroll along the old mill-wheels, next to the small stream Queich and through the Tanners-neighbourhood. The parcs in Annweiler promise relaxation and attract with tennis, minigolf and an adorable playground. During summer the open-air pool is a popular attraction for adults and children.

In Annweiler at the Trifels all guests can use a varied offer: well-marked hiking trails, as for instance the palatinate chestnut path or the Palatinate moenchsweg path, cycle trails as the Queichtal Cycle path and the Castle tour as well as Nordic Walking paths draw through the city and the surrounding area.

On the highest mountain the castle Trifels towers is proudly enthroned over the city, which once was the focus of the Hohenstaufen era. The Trifels is part of the so-called castles-trinity that consists of the Trifels and the ruins Anebos and Scharfenberg (Muenz)

For more districts belong to the City Annweiler: Bindersbach, Queichhambach, Sarnstall and Graefenhausen.
